Austin artist, Judith Miller, was Alan's art teacher at Round Rock High School. Now retired, she is active in the community as an artist, and through her music with the Judith Miller Band.
In honor of Alan's memory, and to help support Pick With Austin in our effort to bring more community awareness to the dangers of teen depression and suicide, Judith has painted this special guitar that she patterned to a theme reflective of her memories of her former student. Aptly titled "Angels Come, Angels Go," after the title of the final song that Alan wrote, the guitar has been touring with the Judith Miller Band to their performances. It also has appeared at special Pick With Austin events that the band has sponsored.
"This guitar was painted in memory of Alan Carter Villaruz-Curley," artist Judith Miller states, "A fine young man, once my student, Alan continually accepted the cares, problems and troubles of his peers as his own."
