PICK WITH AUSTIN PRESENTATION

ABUNDANT FAITH YOUTH MUSIC MINISTRY

The Pick With Austin Street Team (Kate, Lyssa, Rachel, Jayden, and Krista) presented a donation of guitars and a guitar amp to the youth music ministry supported and run by the ABUNDANT FAITH CHURCH in Round Rock, Texas.

 

 

BACKGROUND

Pick With Austin selected the Abundant Faith Church as recipient of guitars for our December event for a variety of reasons. Most importantly, we selected Abundant Faith as this was the church that Alan attended. They found him and took him in and made him a part of their family. Attending their services and various youth programs gave Alan pleasure. Pick With Austin wanted to repay them for that kindness. Additionally, Abundant Faith runs many youth oriented programs designed to benefit children and teens, including those who could be considered "at risk." Their boxing program was one that was dear to Alan, as well as their programs for music. Pastor Art Cardenas and his associates work diligently to give back to the community and to benefit our youth. Pick With Austin is honored to be a part of these programs and efforts and we are proud to help out with this offering to them.

 

PRESENTATION

Pick With Austin began selecting donated guitars a month or two before our presentation. A beautiful Ovation acoustic guitar, and several others, were donated by Martin ("RottingCorpse") of the Dean Owner's of America (DOA). A small Marshall amp was donated by Alan Buck ("Wyd-Open"), also of the Dean Owner's of America (DOA). With donated funds, Pick With Austin purchased an Epiphone Les Paul from Guitar Center. The store discounted it substantially when we explained to the store manager what it was being purchased for. Thank you to Guitar Center in Austin, Texas (on Anderson Lane)! Pick With Austin also sourced and purchased a very nice Horner acoustic with funds raised by forum members with both the Dean Owner's of America (Dean Forum) and the Texas Models & Talent Forum. Austin Models & Talent Agency model/actress Diana Lewis added an acoustic guitar to the mix as well. Thank you to everyone who helped out in the guitars/amps given out at this presentation.

Pick With Austin arrived at Abundant Faith Church on the morning of Sunday, December 19th. During the presentation, Kate Dillinger made a short speech about our donation program and why Pick With Austin decided to do this for their youth music ministry. The Street Team of Lyssa, Rachel, Jayden, and Krista, assisted and supported the presntation and brought forward the guitars and amp.

Pick With Austin also presented a plaque remembering Alan and commemorating the event.

 

 

CLAYTON USA, a sponsor of Pick With Austin, provided a supply of custom "Pick With Austin" guitar picks. These were passed out to some of the youth attending Abundant Faith and who were at the presentation.

 

COMMITMENT

Pick With Austin commits to continue providing guitars to Abundant Faith, as needed and as supplies and funds allow. When in use by them and their youth, if a child or teen shows aptitude and interest and is deserving a guitar of their own that otherwise they could not afford, Abundant Faith shall give the guitar to them to take home and keep. As these are given away, Pick With Austin shall try to keep Abundant Faith stocked with guitars for this purpose.
