PWA SUICIDE AWARENESS EVENT

Danny Ray's Music store in Round Rock, Texas

Pick With Austin was present on Tuesday morning, September 6th, 2011, when Williamson County issued an official Proclamation making the week Suicide Prevention Week in Williamson County. Jeff and Carolyn Curley of Pick With Austin received a copy of the Proclamation. Then, on Thursday September 8th, Pick With Austin made a presentation to the City of Round Rock at the City Council Meeting. The City of Austin issued a Proclamation as well making it officially Suicide Prevention Week. We are proud to have been presented both these Proclamations. Following both of these ceremonies, and on Saturday, September 10th, Pick With Austin held a special Suicide Prevention Awareness Event. This event took place in Round Rock at one of the local Round Rock businesses, Danny Ray's Music. We showcased our series of custom guitars. The Pick With Austin Street Team was present giving out information and free wrist bands (Sydney, Shania, Lyssa, Elyse, Eryn, Paige). The goal of the event was to provide information and awareness for suicide prevention in our community. We do this through our program, "Alan's Gift of Music," in honor of Alan Carter Villaruz-Curley. Pick With Austin wishes to recognize and thank Danny Ray's Music (Danny and his wife, Ray, and David) for hosting our event and for supporting and believing in our cause. More than just a great music store, these are people who really care. Support Round Rock and shop at Danny Ray's Music store! YOU WILL BE IMPRESSED! In addition to giving out various items to people who attended (music CD's, guitar picks, DVD's, and more), Pick With Austin held a free raffle and had a drawing at 4pm. Ray, from Danny Ray's Music, drew the winning ticket and the winner of the guitar was present to walk away with a beautiful Hummingbird acoustic... compliments of Pick With Austin and Danny Ray's!
